Hakata’s Sumiyoshi shrine, quieter than Kushida. Closer from Chikushi exit. After this, the station or Tochoji — not a second deep shrine the same day.
Best time
The first hour after opening on a weekday. Weekends and festival days run thick.
How to go
Start at Hakata. The airport subway or the shinkansen is at Hakata. Read Hakata-guchi or Chikushi-guchi. For Dazaifu, change to Nishitetsu at Tenjin — do not taxi from here.
Tips
- · About 10 minutes from the Chikushi exit.
- · Keep the next stop in Hakata. The station and Canal City share a day. Dazaifu and Itoshima do not.
