Khaosan is a night axis: agencies and laundry by day, the street itself after dark. It is not the dawn start for the Grand Palace. The half-day, which is really a half-night, closes like this: walk Phra Athit and Phra Sumen, keep dinner on this street or Phra Athit, then stop. The Golden Mount and Wat Suthat are a walk, but that is a daytime stretch — do not start it after midnight. Chatuchak and Thonglor are not the next stop from here.

The Democracy Monument is the roundabout landmark on Ratchadamnoen — stand on the refuge, not in the lanes. How to connect: by day walk from here to Loha Prasat, Wat Suthat and the Golden Mount; Khaosan waits until after dark, and do not treat the monument as a night-street start back into the old town. Traffic follows the site; keep the photo stop short.

Dusk · Viewpoint

The Golden Mount is a man-made hill. You stop for one circuit of the old town, not for another tower. The ground temple is a look; the climb is the half-day. Close it like this: walk in from Ratchadamnoen, take Loha Prasat or Wat Suthat first, climb, then the alms-bowl lane, and stop. Khaosan waits until after dark, or drops off the day. Jay Fai or Thip Samai, not both, and not in the same dusk as the climb.

Temple · Walk

Loha Prasat is the stop for the metal columns and spires, on the same old-town north-ring walk as the Golden Mount and Wat Suthat. Half a day: walk from the Democracy Monument or Ratchadamnoen, then climb or enter Wat Suthat, and stop. Khaosan waits until after dark. Do not taxi from Khaosan only for this, and do not add the palace. Opening and any charge follow the door that day.

The Giant Swing stands in front of Wat Suthat — look, then leave; it is not a half-day of its own. How to close: same old-town north ring as Wat Suthat, Loha Prasat and the Golden Mount; murals and the climb are the main stop; Khaosan waits until after dark. Wat Suthat is the stop for the cloister murals; the Giant Swing at the door is a look, then you leave. With the Golden Mount and Loha Prasat this is the old town's north ring by day, and it does not need the palace. Half a day: walk from the monument or the mount, linger on the murals, then stop — no mall or Thonglor. Opening and tickets follow the temple that day.

Phra Sumen Fort is the riverside bastion and an evening breeze quieter than Khaosan. How to close: walk Phra Athit to the north end for a look, keep dinner on this bank, then stop; boats from Phra Athit leave the night street. Do not walk to the Golden Mount after midnight, and do not add Chatuchak. Outdoor fort space; no known gate ticket is written here.

Wat Bowonniwet is the quiet temple where kings ordained, a few lanes from Khaosan but a different tempo. How to use it: a daytime short walk from Khaosan; cover shoulders and knees; the Golden Mount and Wat Suthat are another daytime north ring — do not start them from the night street after midnight, and do not add a Jay Fai queue. Opening follows the door that day.

Ratchadamnoen is the tree avenue between the monuments — wait for the light. How to use it: the daytime axis from the Democracy Monument to the Golden Mount or Wat Suthat; do not insert Khaosan into this stretch; traffic is heavy, so use crossings and refuges. The avenue is not a nightlife main stage, and do not bounce back to the palace as a second stop.

Ban Bat is the lane that still makes alms bowls — look, then return to the Golden Mount; it is not a shopping stop of its own. How to close: after the climb, a short stop at the lane mouth; same daytime north ring as Loha Prasat and Wat Suthat; Khaosan waits until after dark, and Jay Fai or Thip Samai, not both. Whether workshops are open follows the site; tickets and clock hours are not frozen here.
