The cathedral on Largo da Sé, far less trafficked than St. Dominic's. The square has trees and benches — rare places to sit in the old town.
Best time
Shaded and cooler in the afternoon; do not tour the interior during Mass.
How to go
About four minutes up Travessa da Sé from Senado Square.
Tips
- · The stained glass only comes alive in afternoon light
- · The square is where locals rest — do not monopolise benches for photos
