Road closures redraw the map
The Guia circuit is a genuine street track: during practice and racing the relevant roads close, buses divert, and footbridges and subways become the way across. A ten-minute hop can become thirty. If you are staying near the circuit, budget the extra time.
If you are here for the race: tickets, seats, schedule
Grandstand tickets vary sharply by section, sightline and price and usually go on sale well ahead; there are free or public vantage points, but they get very crowded. The meeting runs across several days with different practice and race times — go by the organiser's published schedule and ticketing arrangements for that year. Bring ear protection and sun cover.
Not here for the race: head south and across
Shift your weight to Cotai, Taipa and Coloane, which are largely unaffected by the closures, and the indoor route runs as normal. If you must be on the peninsula, favour A-Ma, the Inner Harbour and the streets south of the avenue, avoiding Guia and the NAPE area. Rooms that week usually cost more and sell out early — book ahead.
