Stop at Wat Pho for the mother-of-pearl soles of the reclining Buddha, not for another temple on the palace ticket. It sits outside the walls and has its own ticket. Half a day: walk here after the palace, or start from Tha Tien; see the reclining figure, the feet and the chedis, and use a roofed gallery when it is hot. If dusk still has a crossing, add only Wat Arun, then stop. The massage school is another price list, not a second sight to stamp.
Best time
Wat Pho's visit-plan page: daily 08:00–19:30, 300 baht for foreigners, free under 120 cm. Not the palace's 500-baht ticket.
How to go
Walk from Tha Tien. MRT Sanam Chai plus a walk also works. Cover shoulders and knees; shoes come off at the halls.
Tips
- · The feet are worth ten more minutes than a full-length photo.
- · The massage school on site has its own rates, separate from admission. We do not book it.
- · Pak Khlong at dusk is the next stop, not a second ticket.
