Passengers boarding a Chao Praya ferry at the Tha Tien stop in Bangkok, Thailand

Tha Tien is Wat Pho's boat door and the short ferry to Wat Arun. You stop to pick the right boat, not to take another round of river photos. The orange line is the express-boat commuter service; from 6 October 2026 the operator lists a weekday flat fare of 19 baht. It is not the tourist boat. The Wat Arun ferry is a separate ticket, at the window. If the half-day starts here, pick the temple or the prang as the main stop and let the other be only the crossing.
Best time
The orange express line follows the chaophrayaexpressboat.com table from 6 October 2026: 19 baht flat on weekdays. The page header says daily service and each line says Monday–Friday — at weekends follow the pier. The short ferry fare is not frozen here.
How to go
Wat Pho is inland from the pier. Wat Arun is the short ferry opposite. The tourist boat is another company; flag and fare follow the pier that day.
Tips
- · Rabbit's FAQ says the card can pay the Chao Phraya express boat. That is still the boat fare, not a BTS ride, and it does not pay the Saen Saep boat.
