Stop at Wat Arun for the Khmer prang and the river, and the climb only reaches one terrace. It is not a third court inside the palace walls. Half a day: the short ferry from Tha Tien (not the orange line's flat fare), walk the prang and the galleries, climb one level and come down. If dusk is already the Golden Mount or Mahanakhon, come here by day. On the same bank you can still walk to Wat Kalayanamit or Santa Cruz — pick one, then stop. Do not continue into ICON.
Best time
The temple contact page lists the prang daily 08:00–18:00 and 50 baht for foreigners, free for Thais. A tourism-authority page has listed a different fare. Both figures are in circulation — pay the booth that day. This station does not freeze one of them as the price.
How to go
The cross-river ferry at Tha Tien. The orange express line is the main river service; the short ferry is a separate ticket, at the window. Do not reuse the single-digit fare on the temple's older pages.
Tips
- · Cover shoulders and knees. The stairs are steep; one terrace is the climb.
- · Do not stay on the prang in a storm.
