Stop for the Emerald Buddha and the palace courts inside the walls, not a photo at the gate. One foreign ticket covers the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew and the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles in the compound. Half a day: Tha Chang or MRT Sanam Chai to the gate, finish the temple and the main courts, leave before ticket sales end, then walk to Wat Pho if your legs remain. Wat Pho is another ticket. Wat Arun is a crossing. Chatuchak and Thonglor are other days. Sites outside the walls that appear on the same ticket are not scheduled on this station.
Best time
The palace ticket page: daily 08:30–16:30, sales 08:30–15:30, 500 baht for foreigners. Check the schedule for ceremony closures; if it is shut, do not wait at the gate.
How to go
Walk from Tha Chang, or MRT Sanam Chai. Check the dress code before you queue. The cross-river ferry and the orange express boat are not this ticket.
Tips
- · Cover shoulders and knees. Hiring clothes at the gate is a repair.
- · Wat Phra Kaew is not a second ticket. Wat Pho and Wat Arun are each separate.
- · The ticket says seven days and one visit per site. It is not seven days of unlimited re-entry.
