Nijo Castle
The Tokugawa castle in Kyoto; the nightingale floors chirp. Ninomaru Garden takes its own time. Pick this or Kinkaku-ji for a castle-and-garden half-day — not both plus Kiyomizu.

Palace / Nijo / Nishijin
Nijo, the Imperial Park, Nishijin and the manga museum. A central culture day — not Kinkaku plus Kiyomizu.

Kyoto Imperial Palace
The palace inside the Imperial Park. Visits need an application or that day’s public slot. Without permission, walk the park — do not push the gate.

Sento Imperial Palace
The retired emperor’s palace and garden, by guided visit. Do not assume the same permit as the main palace. No booking, walk the park instead.

Shokoku-ji
Built under Ashikaga Yoshimitsu; the dragon ceiling is in the hall. North of the palace. A short morning visit — skip Daitoku-ji if the palace is already on.

Nishijin
The weavers’ quarter. A slow afternoon; shops close earlier than malls. Same area as the textile center — this is not a shopping binge.

Nishijin Textile Center
Textile displays; the fashion show follows that day’s timetable. A rain substitute for an outdoor temple. One length of cloth is enough.

Kyoto International Manga Museum
A former school, now a manga museum; you can read in the courtyard. Often closed Wednesday. An indoor half-day — do not add Kinkaku-ji.

Oike One Meal
One sitting on the palace–Nijo axis. After the castle or park — do not add Kinkaku-ji.
