A Narrow Soi at Chatuchak Weekend Market, Bangkok, Thailand

Chatuchak is worth the trip because the whole market is open at the weekend; one direction each for clothes, home and second-hand is enough. Weekdays are only a section — do not make a special trip. Half a day: in at Mo Chit or MRT Chatuchak Park, eat at Or Tor Kor, go deep in one section, and retreat to the park or JJ Mall when it is hot. The Grand Palace and Thonglor are not the same day. Ari is a weekday lane; do not insert it here.
Best time
The TAT Japanese page: Thursday and Friday 07:00–18:00 for the plant section, Friday 18:00–24:00 for retail, Saturday and Sunday 09:00–18:00. A market website describes the weekday sections differently. Follow the gate that day. That page lists no entrance charge, so this station does not invent one.
How to go
BTS Mo Chit, or MRT Chatuchak Park / Kamphaeng Phet. The Blue Line takes a contactless bank card, not Rabbit. Walk in after the gate.
Tips
- · Saturday noon is the crush. Come early, or move to Sunday afternoon.
- · Leave by the station you entered. Do not transfer on to the Siam malls.
