Morning: Zhongshan station to Chifeng
Leave the red line at Zhongshan station. The Nanxi quarter and Eslite Nanxi are a pass-through — do not turn them into two Xinyi-style department stores. Chifeng Street and a look at Tiaotong; Tiaotong is a night scale, so by day you only learn the way. Cai Rui-yue can be a short stop if it is on the way. Shuanglian Market is not a second lunch. Decide first where today's meal is. Chifeng is for learning the way and the shopfronts. If you stay for Tiaotong at night, do not add a market. Stop the day here. Leave the other district for tomorrow. Do not add a stop before the last train, and trust the station board over this guide.
One meal: Shuang Yue or Lin Dong Fang
Shuang Yue is on Zhongshan North Road and Nong'an Street. The soup is lunch or an early dinner; do not also queue beef noodle. Lin Dong Fang is on Bade Road Section 1, a walk from Nanjing Fuxing or Zhongxiao Fuxing, and that bowl is the meal. Not both shops the same day. If it is still early, next is Xingtian Temple — one stretch of incense, then leave. Shuangcheng or Liaoning only if the soup or the noodle was not already the main meal, and then only one of them. After the soup or the noodle, go straight to Xingtian. Consider a market only if that meal ended early. Keep this stretch inside two hours. Note the metro exit before you start, leave as soon as you have seen or eaten, and do not queue a second door.
Do not append Dadaocheng or the Palace
Dihua, Xiahai and Ningxia are the Dadaocheng day. Do not make dinner two night markets. The Palace and Shilin Night Market are the other north axis. After Xingtian, do not ride to Beitou for a soak, and do not chase Elephant Mountain in Xinyi. A Zhongshan day ends at Chifeng, one meal, one temple. Zhongshan ends near Shuanglian, Zhongshan or Xingtian. Do not add a ride to Ningxia, the Palace or Elephant Mountain. Stop once in the middle. When you have eaten or looked, walk on. Do not turn passing shops into a list, and go back by the station you came in on.
