Enter Longshan in the early morning
From Metro Longshan Temple, enter the temple first; morning is quieter than afternoon. See the main hall and leave — do not stamp every side hall. Then a stretch of Bopiliao's street houses. Qingshui, Qingshan, Tianhou or Xiben: one more temple, not four sticks of incense. If you are at Wholesome Hotel on Guangzhou Street or Lungshan Hotel in the lane, walk. Do not start in Ximen. The main hall and one old street end the morning. Other temples are a doorway only if you pass them. Stop the day here. Leave the other district for tomorrow. Do not add a stop before the last train, and trust the station board over this guide.
Dinner is Guangzhou Street or Nanjichang
Huaxi is a look, then leave — it is not a second night market. Dinner is Guangzhou Street or Nanjichang, not both; when you have eaten enough, head back toward Longshan. Do not add Ay-Chung or Du Xiao Yue in Ximen. If Bopiliao is done, do not loop it again at night. Leave the busiest junction before the last trains. Eat the one market you chose until it is enough, then return. Do not cut through to Ximen. Keep this stretch inside two hours. Note the metro exit before you start, leave as soon as you have seen or eaten, and do not queue a second door.
Do not stack Ximen or Zhongzheng
The Ximen pedestrian streets are another day's shopping. The memorial, Nanmen Market and the Presidential Office exterior are the Zhongzheng day. Do not finish Longshan and then rush to a Xinyi dusk. Beitou and Maokong are farther. The shape of a Wanhua day is one main temple, one old street, one night market. Wanhua ends at Longshan station. The memorial exit and Ximen should not appear today. Stop once in the middle. When you have eaten or looked, walk on. Do not turn passing shops into a list, and go back by the station you came in on.
