One corridor a day
Two Xinyi department stores at most, then leave dusk for Elephant Mountain or the 101 observatory. Ximen is the pedestrian streets and the Red House, not a substitute for Xinyi. Dihua is dry goods — the whole street in the new-year weeks, half on a normal day, dinner at Ningxia. If Wufenpu is for clothes, go before Raohe, not on a Xinyi mall day. Syntrend or Guanghua Digital Plaza, one building, with Huashan as the rainy design axis. When the corridor is done, take the bags back to the hotel. Do not transfer to the next district still carrying them. Keep this stretch inside two hours. Note the metro exit before you start, leave as soon as you have seen or eaten, and do not queue a second door.
Do not schedule shops that are gone
Eslite Dunnan has closed — do not write it back into the East District corridor. The old Guanghua mall no longer trades on its former site. What you walk now is Guanghua Digital Plaza around Zhongxiao Xinsheng, on the same axis as Syntrend; go deep in one building. Eslite Xinyi is still in the 101 belt and is not the Dunnan store. After you buy, stop. Do not cross town to replace a shop that has closed. Do not navigate a closed address from an old map. If the shop is not there, leave. Stop once in the middle. When you have eaten or looked, walk on. Do not turn passing shops into a list, and go back by the station you came in on.
