Cancel the steps; one hall or two stores
Elephant Mountain steps, the Baishihu bridge, Yangmingshan paths and the Maokong hillside all cancel in the rain. If the gondola is stopped, stay indoors at the zoo — do not switch to the mountain path. One indoor axis: one Palace gallery route, with closures following the site rather than an assumed weekday; or TFAM; or one Huashan show plus Syntrend or Guanghua. In Xinyi, two department stores, and the observatory can replace Elephant Mountain — not both. Once the rainy day picks one hall, stop checking a second hall's ticket. You will rush both. Stop the day here. Leave the other district for tomorrow. Do not add a stop before the last train, and trust the station board over this guide.
Rain is still one axis a day
Indoors does not mean the Palace, TFAM and the 101 mall in a chain. The Palace is in Shilin; pair the afternoon with Shilin Night Market or go back to the station. Huashan and Guanghua are at Zhongxiao Xinsheng; if you want Fu Hang, arrive early, until it sells out. Xinyi's rainy dusk keeps the observatory only. The Beitou public bath can be another rainy day, but that is a spring day — do not rush to Xinbeitou after the Palace closes. Lunch on an indoor axis stays with the hall. Do not cross town in the rain for a famous shop. Keep this stretch inside two hours. Note the metro exit before you start, leave as soon as you have seen or eaten, and do not queue a second door.
