Zoo in the morning, then the gondola board
Wenhu line to Taipei Zoo station. Enter on a weekday morning. Closing and tickets follow the zoo site — no frozen number, and do not arrive just before closing. The Maokong Gondola is next door, a separate fare from the metro; EasyCard or iPASS can pay, as another charge. Wind or storms follow the board. If it is stopped, stay in the zoo or return to town — do not switch to the mountain path. Tea or Zhinan Temple only if the gondola is running and the children can still walk, one of them. Do not add Jingmei after the descent. A day with children is walking inside the zoo. Add the gondola only when the board says it is running. Stop once in the middle. When you have eaten or looked, walk on. Do not turn passing shops into a list, and go back by the station you came in on.
Swap the steps for indoors
Elephant Mountain steps, Xianjiyan, the Baishihu bridge and the Jinlong climb are unkind to strollers and small children. Do not put them on the zoo day. Rain means the indoor 101 mall; the observatory ticket is separate and follows the official site. Or Miramar in Dazhi as the indoor room — the wheel is not a second required dusk. The memorial square is flat and can be a short stop on another day. Do not also add the Ximen crowds. Strollers stay on the flat. Delete the steps and the bridge entirely. Do not turn around halfway. Stop the day here. Leave the other district for tomorrow. Do not add a stop before the last train, and trust the station board over this guide.
