The order of the Xinbeitou walk
Red line to Xinbeitou. Read the hot-spring museum door notice first. Hours, closures and any charge follow the current site — do not assume a fixed Monday. Then the park to the library and Thermal Valley; watch the steam and leave. The public bath belongs while the legs still work. Bring a towel. Which pool is open, and until when, follows the board. The fee is not frozen here. Walk the museum, Thermal Valley and the bath as three points. Do not return to the station in between. Stop the day here. Leave the other district for tomorrow. Do not add a stop before the last train, and trust the station board over this guide.
One meal at the market
One meal at Xinbeitou Market, either before or after the soak — not both rounds. The Ketagalan culture hall is a short stop if time remains, not a second deep museum. The park paths are enough. If you are not sleeping in Beitou, go down after dark and do not leave Thermal Valley until the last train. Put the market meal before or after the bath. The culture hall is a ten-minute exterior. Keep this stretch inside two hours. Note the metro exit before you start, leave as soon as you have seen or eaten, and do not queue a second door.
Yangmingshan and Guandu are other days
Yangmingshan needs the park bus. The hotel on Gezhi Road is a bed on the mountain, not an add-on after the soak. Check the Qingtiangang notice first. Guandu Temple, the nature park and the wharf are another half day on the red line. Do not append the Shilin Palace after the springs. When the Xinbeitou loop is done, stop. A spring day ends at Xinbeitou. Do not add the Yangmingshan bus or Guandu on the way down. Stop once in the middle. When you have eaten or looked, walk on. Do not turn passing shops into a list, and go back by the station you came in on.
