Dihua Street
Dry goods, cloth and tea houses. Crowded around the lunar new year; on ordinary days read the shopfronts slowly.

Datong
Dadaocheng and Yuanshan. Dihua is one day; TFAM is another morning.

Xiahai City God Temple
The small temple mid-Dihua. The matchmaker altar jams; early on a weekday is when you can actually enter.

Yongle Market
The cloth market is inside the building. If you came to Dihua for fabric, this is the one — not a second market.

Dadaocheng Wharf
Dusk on the Tamsui River. Keep this one river stretch — do not also rush Elephant Mountain.

Dadaocheng Theater
Opera follows the programme. Without a ticket, look at the building and do not wait around.

Chiencheng Circle
The rebuilt circle of food stalls. Pick this or Ningxia for dinner — not both.

Ningxia Night Market
The night market most worth sitting down for. After six on a weekday; on weekends arrive earlier or accept the queue.

Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei
The old city hall, now a contemporary museum. Closure days follow the site's current notice — do not assume a fixed weekday. After the show, return to the street.

Dalongdong Baoan Temple
The Baosheng temple. Same morning as the Confucius Temple next door. Procession days follow the notice.

Taipei Confucius Temple
A large, quieter courtyard than Baoan. The ceremony that matters is the September rite.

Taipei Expo Park
The park and arts grounds outside Yuanshan station. The outdoor half of a museum day — not also Yangmingshan.

Taipei Fine Arts Museum
TFAM. Closure days follow the museum's current notice — do not assume a fixed weekday. The Story House is across the way — go deep on one exhibition.
Winertai · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Taipei Story House
The western-style house across from the museum. Tea and the building, fifteen to forty minutes.
Udo Schoene · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Lin An Tai Historical House
A relocated courtyard house. Come after the Expo Park if your feet still work — not on a Palace Museum day.

Maji Square
The container market at Yuanshan. Lunch or a snack — do not also keep dinner here.

Dajia Riverside Park
Bikes and kites on the river. The tail of this day only — do not add a night market.
