Who fits SimplyGo vs Tourist Pass
One axis a day, few rides: contactless SimplyGo (Visa / Mastercard / Amex etc.) or EZ-Link pay-per-ride is usually enough. Many cross-town hops across consecutive days: consider the Singapore Tourist Pass. SimplyGo published standard prices (re-checked 28 Oct 2026): S$17 / 24 / 29 / 37 / 45 for 1–5 days — confirm on-site / official; we do not run a live fare API. Multi-day passes must be consecutive; a “day” follows the operating day, not a rolling 24 hours. Short HK trips that are mostly walking + one or two MRT rides often stay cheaper pay-per-ride.
Common mistake: assuming the Pass covers Sentosa Express
Tourist Pass covers MRT / LRT / basic buses — not Sentosa Express, RWS8, or some airport / premium buses (SimplyGo lists premium / niche exclusions). After HarbourFront, pay Express separately or walk the boardwalk. Cable car is another ticket again.
Decision line: set payment on arrival, then pick an axis
At Changi: confirm tap-in works (or buy Pass / EZ-Link) before a Jewel half-hour. Do not study four lines while clearing immigration. NS / EW / Circle / NE are the spine; last trains around midnight — trust station boards.
