Which station to enter from
From Tanimachi 4-chome walk toward Gokuraku Bridge, about a quarter hour. The keep faces the bridge. JR Osaka-jo Koen is closer, but it is JR — a Metro day pass does not cover it. Do not ride both stations as a loop.
Keep, garden and museum are separate
The keep usually closes 28 Dec–1 Jan; Nishinomaru Garden is a separate ticket — check that day's notice. The history museum is on the Tanimachi 4-chome side, often closed Tuesday. The top floor sees the castle, so you need not climb the keep as well.
Cherry season is not a normal day
From late March into early April the moat is the crowd — arrive early. The Mint walk is not permanent; if it is closed, do not make a special trip. End on the east side of the castle. Do not chase Tsutenkaku at night.
