Getting there and back
Coloane runs on buses, less frequent than in town and finishing earlier, so check your return service before you go. It is quick from Cotai and a proper journey from the peninsula. Do not assume something will always turn up.
There is little to do in the village — that is the point
A chapel square, a few narrow lanes, a railing above the water — that is the inventory. Buy a tart, sit down, look across the channel. If you want more, walk the old street or the pier stretch; do not add another sight just to fill the hour.
Pick one beach only
Hac Sa is dark-sand, broad and breezy; Cheoc Van is smaller and quieter. Doing both means spending the afternoon at bus stops. Before swimming, read the day’s flags and notices on site — currents and water-quality advice change.
