The royal botanic garden takes half a day. Not also Hampton Court or Windsor. Next is Kew Palace — do not also stack Richmond Park the same day.
Analysis
Kew Gardens is a walk, not a photo stop. About 10:00 to dusk; closing shifts with the season. Gate hours and lawn hours differ. Be out toward Kew Gardens before dark, and do not use the park as a shortcut into the next district.
Best time
Greenhouses first, just after opening
How to go
District line to Kew Gardens, or London Overground
Transit
The park has no ticket gate. The station is Kew Gardens. Leave before the last train, and do not cross the grass after dark.
Season window
Spring is blossom at Kew Gardens, summer picnics are crowded, autumn light is the point, winter dusk is early. In rain stay on the paved main path.
Tips
- · Tickets: High: adult tickets on the official site — do not freeze a guide number. Plan about 150 minutes.
- · The site is large; pick glasshouses or the treetop walk, not both if time is short
- · Lawns at Kew Gardens can close at short notice. Dogs, bikes and picnics follow that day's notice. No large speakers.
