Southern entrance to Hampstead Heath close to the railway station

Woods and ponds in north London. Not also Richmond Park. Next is Parliament Hill — do not also stack Greenwich Park the same day.
Analysis
Hampstead Heath is a walk, not a photo stop. The heath all day; pond swimming has its own hours. Gate hours and lawn hours differ. Be out toward Hampstead before dark, and do not use the park as a shortcut into the next district.
Best time
Morning
How to go
Hampstead, then walk
Transit
The park has no ticket gate. The station is Hampstead. Leave before the last train, and do not cross the grass after dark.
Season window
Spring is blossom at Hampstead Heath, summer picnics are crowded, autumn light is the point, winter dusk is early. In rain stay on the paved main path.
Tips
- · Tickets: Free. Plan about 70 minutes.
- · It is large; pick Parliament Hill or Kenwood
- · Lawns at Hampstead Heath can close at short notice. Dogs, bikes and picnics follow that day's notice. No large speakers.
