The slope from the museum to the observatory. Greenwich's hill — not also Hampstead. Next is Royal Observatory — do not also stack Hyde Park the same day.
Analysis
Greenwich Park is a walk, not a photo stop. Pedestrians about 06:00 to dusk. Gate hours and lawn hours differ. Be out toward Greenwich before dark, and do not use the park as a shortcut into the next district.
Best time
Climb in the afternoon
How to go
Up the avenue from the Queen's House
Transit
The park has no ticket gate. The station is Greenwich. Leave before the last train, and do not cross the grass after dark.
Season window
Spring is blossom at Greenwich Park, summer picnics are crowded, autumn light is the point, winter dusk is early. In rain stay on the paved main path.
Tips
- · Tickets: Free. Plan about 40 minutes.
- · The hill is long; pushchairs struggle
- · Lawns at Greenwich Park can close at short notice. Dogs, bikes and picnics follow that day's notice. No large speakers.
