Omuro cherries and a five-storey pagoda. Late-cherry season is crowded. Same northwest as Kinkaku-ji; blossom season needs its own time.
Best time
Morning after the gates open. New Year and festivals are separate.
How to go
City bus or subway “御室仁和寺”. Tap ICOCA or PiTaPa. A city-bus day pass is bus only — not subway or JR.
Tips
- · Omuro cherries and a five-storey pagoda. Late-cherry season is crowded. Same northwest as Kinkaku-ji; blossom season needs its own time.
- · One axis a day. Do not stack Higashiyama, Arashiyama, Fushimi, Kinkaku and Ginkaku.
