Pak Tam Chung gate (MacLehose start) → taxi or bike to Sai Wan Pavilion / Tai Long Wan Road. Weekend special buses. No MTR. Do not illegal-park outside the gate.
Return
Ham Tin or Sai Wan reverse to Pak Tam Chung. Last taxi/special bus depends on crowd. Keep a 90 min buffer or you risk a night out.
Last transport
Pak Tam Chung specials and taxis vanish before dusk. Do not gamble that a car will appear.
Abort / bad weather
Rain, fog, or a slowing teammate: terminate at Sai Wan or Ham Tin. Do not summit. Paths collapse after typhoons.
From the hubs
Central/TST ~2–2.5 h to Pak Tam Chung (MTR to Diamond Hill/Hang Hau then bus/taxi). Sai Kung town is supply, not the trailhead.
Octopus / transfers
Bus/taxi Octopus or cash. No e-hail if signal dies — pre-arrange the return taxi.

Crowds
Fewer than Dragon’s Back on a clear weekend, but Ham Tin swimmers clog the path.
