The great ginkgo stands in the Tenmangu courtyard, on the way in from the approach. It is not a separate site. November color is the reason to make a trip. Other months, see the tree and continue to the hall or the museum.

Start at Dazaifu. Nishitetsu from Tenjin to Futsukaichi, then the Dazaifu line. Walk the approach from the terminus. Museum or Mount Homan — not both. The last train is earlier than the subway.
